Online Appointments

To book an appointment with a GP online, please download and sign into the NHS app, using the same email that you have used to register at the surgery, or via the Patient Access app/website.

Once you have activated this service, you will be able to book face to face appointments up to a month in advance, order repeat prescriptions, and look at your medical record.

From the age 12...

A young person aged 12 or above is generally considered mature enough to understand and make their own informed decisions.  They have a legal right to access their own records, and can allow or prevent access by others, including their parents. However, each case will be individually considered.

Any parental access to a child’s records must be in the child’s best interests.

If you have any issues accessing this service, please ask reception for further details.

Telephone Advice

Patients may ask to speak to a doctor or the nurse by telephone during the working day, but please note, that this is not always possible and is ordinarily considered as an appointment.

If the call is not urgent and staff are busy with patients the patient may be asked to call back after surgery.

In other circumstances it may be necessary for the doctor or nurse to call you back at a time more convenient to them.

Home Visits

Please note; At present, the majority of any required home visits are being conducted by The Community Paramedic Team.

If possible, please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice.

Your GP will only arrange a visit for you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby, or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Cancel an Appointment

Appointments are a valuable resource and if you cannot make an appointment you must let us know as soon as possible.  We monitor non-attendance and if there are 3 missed appointments within a year, you may be asked to register with another practice.

We appreciate that plans do not always go according to plan.  However, if you need to cancel your appointment on the day, please try to let us know at least 2 hours ahead of time, or as soon as possible, so that we can offer another patient that slot.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
